Stupid WD My Book Live.

So for the past 2 weeks I’ve been trying to figure out how to get this drive to work on my network.

After blasting their tech support for telling me to open ports on my router directly to the unit I read this little blurb online.

SSH access mode. Sweet.
Logged in as root where I discovered the resolv.conf file is messed up and missing info.
The web client limits the manual input to ip address’s only.
So I manually added my IP’s DNS info.

Presto the darn thing is getting network time, registered and now is updating. WD your interface sucks! Now I can test the actually products performance.
