Project YC-14 Battery Wiring Harness

My small HobbyKing order arrived today.

10×7 Props and XT60 male and female connections.

I wasted no time this evening working on my Y-Y cable.

Rubber bands made the job a lot easier.

The iron gets hot. Needed a method to keep it from falling over.

Wing/ESC harness being put together.

All done. Yellow is #1. Blue is #2. I have silicon wire on order from HK but it takes weeks to ship.

Test fitting to the wing section.

IMG_3726

And presto. Now once I get to the field I no longer have to remove the wing.

IMG_3727

Just need to tape down the connectors.

Testing with 1 battery. Both ESC are now powered.

The battery harness.

Test fitting. With the batteries now located near the nose of the plane.

IMG_3733

Much better. Simply remove the connector and the plane is off.

Not 100% sure if the 2 batteries will interact when connected so I will most likely disconnect them as well.

Time to build a new battery tray.

I did a GC balance test before securing the tray in the plane and it balanced right out.

IMG_3737

The batteries move from up high to down low near the nose which means no more wrench.

The tray. Small piece of foam up front.

IMG_3739

Same proven idea as the upper tray.

IMG_3740

I turned the plane upside down and shook it as much as I could. The batteries did not move.

Looking forward to testing this tomorrow.

Here is the wiring diagram.
