YC-14 Taxi

October 18, 2013 Leave a comment Go to comments

Well it is about time…

Tonight’s goal was simple. Be able to taxi the YC-14 so I don’t have to hand launch anymore.

Took a little work but in the end I think the test went well.

Servo piece with a screw into the wooden dowel and a 2nd screw + tie wrap to hold it all straight.

I used a rivet to sleeve the front wheel. Spins well.

During one of my tests the tricycle affect showed up and the wing dipped over scrubbing the prop off the ground.

Solution was simple. Move the rear landing gear.

Looks a little like a truck but now the plane is super stable.

Nose section work. I still need to sort out the front around the dome.

But the cover is secure.

Added some internal side pieces.

Aiming to do a few flights this weekend. See you there.
