Hobby King Order

October 22, 2013 Leave a comment Go to comments

Hobby King is really getting under my skin. Several of my orders specially the ones with my remotes are missing in shipping hell or worst have been stuck in the backlog cue since mid September.

That said we managed to get one order shipped via FEDEX in a more respectable time frame.

This one contained parts to thank my Dad for helping with another project. Also passed a Zippy Compact 2200 over to a friend who is just starting out and needed a proper 3S to test and setup his new builds.

Here we go with an order break down:

Turnigy Transmitter Muff – Red Got one for myself and my Dad. In fact my son just asked one. Eh we live in Canada and plan to fly all winter. Warm hands are a must.

Yes they look like mens shorts with a viewing area 🙂

But the remote fits in nicely.

ZIPPY Compact 2200mAh 3S 25C Lipo Pack Finally some more batteries for the big plane. I have batteries in with both missing remote orders. Hobby King… GRRRR. Looking forward to seeing how these perform.

Lighting bits. Again winter in Canada means shorter days. Flying at night is fun so a few extra lights won’t hurt.

JST Female 2 pin connector set (10pcs/set) these will help connect light gear.

JST-XH to JST LED Power Distribution Lead (4 JST) I’ve not got this work yet but if it does I can draw power from the flight batteries. Still testing.

Super Bright 3Watt Red LED Lamp with Aluminium Heatsink

Super Bright 3Watt Green LED Lamp with Aluminium Heatsink

Both LED’s are crazy bright. They will be mounted on the wings.

Turnigy TGY-50090M Metal Gear 9g Analog Servo The metal gear is going to be for the front landing gear. Should do the job nicely.

Turnigy TG9e 9g / 1.5kg / 0.10sec Eco Micro Servo I can now remove all the full size servos from the airframe and start working on the 4 egg pod for the new plane.

Light Foam Wheel (Diam: 40, Width: 11mm) (5pcs/bag) Bigger landing gear this should address a lot of the issues we saw last weekend. Looking forward to having the YC do a full runway take off!

Turnigy 9X LCD Backlight Kit – Green (DIY) Oh look Hobby King the backlight kit showed up before the 9X. Grrrr.

Not shown is the Aircraft Navigation Lamp Set  but I received an email from my Dad that it is super cool. Very glad he liked it.

Testing the LED’s. They are bright.

Interesting that I could not run them at the same time.

Still should be very handy at night. I have 2 white ones in the cue for the future.

Wheels are going to very handy.

Size difference. I’ll use 2 smaller ones up front.

Installed one but that is all for this evening.
